The reality that ObamaCare will not be repealed is resulting in large layoffs, as employers around the country make necessary cost reductions in order to pay for the plan. More people will be applying for jobless benefits going forward, making further tax increases mandatory to cover those benefit costs. Employers who face rising costs of doing business will not be hiring or expanding their operations in such an economy, prolonging the problem. Hardest-hit by big layoffs this week are battleground states Ohio and Pennsylvania, who both went for Obama. The irony is stark.
When unemployment increases, so do home foreclosures. ….. Although the Obama campaign touted “an improving housing market” in their ads, that domino is about to fall as well. A fresh wave of foreclosures will eradicate whatever miniscule uptick may have been occurring.
…. the last domino holding us together at all – our Constitution and Bill of Rights ….
Even a little kid can figure out beforehand what happens next when you tip the first domino in a standing series. How do so many Americans fail to see it?
» Obama Re-Election Brings Israel Mideast War
The re-election of a U.S. president with a weak foreign policy has, on cue, brought war to Israel. Islamist aggressors have sized up the next four years based on the last four years
President Obama’s re-election telegraphed that the world’s lone superpower will continue the sentimentalist diplomacy of the last four years.
It also confirmed that America would continue gutting its military, shutting down the production of key weapons systems like the F-22 Raptor, which the Air Force calls critical in sustaining U.S. tactical air power.
Hamas, whose rockets now target Jerusalem, know that America is weakening both its military and its support for the Jewish state — just as they know our “tough diplomacy” against Iran is a dismal failure as Tehran nears nuclear weapons capability
Take just a second to recall how many national leaders across the globe have made calls for cessation of hostilities since Gaza was surrendered to the palestinians. Recall how many of those calls were made before Israel fought back.
Having trouble with that last part? Can’t remember anyone ever giving a hoot how many deaths were caused by palistinian rockets flying into Israel? I remember zero (0, as in big fat). Ever since Israel moved out of Gaza, left it to the peace-loving and appreciative palis, there have been few – precious few – days that rockets have not flown over their border.
Our beloved mainstream media never seems to notice, or at least they never seem to find a reason to care. That is until the Israelis run out of tolerance and start fighting back, then the media gets so very interested.
I have to point out that the tone is slightly different this go round – so far. At least some of the protestations are preambled with the admission of Israel’s right to self defense. We’ll see how long that sentiment lasts.
…. major international leaders – including US President Barack Obama and European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton – backed Israel’s right to self-defense, but spoke of the need to de-escalate the situation …..
Here it comes, the usual cry of mercy for the merciless ….
“Israel has the right to protect its population from these kind of attacks. I urge Israel to ensure that its response is proportionate,”
In other words, don’t fight like you mean it.
I would love to hear Netanyahu promise proportionate response …. no more carefully planned surgical strikes to avoid civilian/innocent casualties. Just promise to start blindly firing missiles into Gaza, willy-nilly, by the hundreds. That would be 100% proportionate.
No one is talking about it in the mainstream global media. No one.
So, help me understand. When an Israeli soldier so much as sneezes on a Palestinian it’s worth a special report on the BBC.
When Israel — FINALLY! — retaliates after getting smacked upside the head by missile after missile, it’s splashed across CNN.com.
Zionists control the media, my ass.
Israel, the only country in the world that doesn’t get to set their own capital?
» AP’s Self-Declared Jerusalem “Correction”
The short history of the Western Hemisphere is as follows: North America was colonized by Anglo-Celts, Central and South America by “Hispanics.” Up north, two centuries of constitutional evolution and economic growth; down south, coups, corruption, generalissimos and presidents-for-life.
Republicans think they’re importing hardworking immigrants who want a shot at the American Dream; the Democrats think they’re importing clients for Big Government. The left is right: just under 60% of immigrants receive some form of welfare.
If you were told you could walk into a First World nation and access free education, free health care, free services in your own language and have someone else pay your entrance fee, why wouldn’t you?
First and foremost, Romney lost because the mainstream media brazenly went all in for Obama. And guess what? They no longer care who knows it because they feel the Republicans and the American people are powerless to stop them. Sadly, they are correct.
Over the last three decades or more, Republicans and conservatives have ceded all of the nation’s megaphones to far-left zealots. Be they in the “media,” in every level of “education,” or in “entertainment,” liberal thought now controls and directs the conversation of America and those in charge are all too willing to smear or intimidate anyone into either thinking their way, or worse, looking the other way so as not to fall under their malevolent gaze and totalitarian methods.
Using publicly available voter data and comparing it to U.S. Census records reveals the ten counties having a total registration ranging between 104 to 140 percent of the respective populations.
…. Records show Gilpin County had 61 percent voter turnout in the 2010 election and Hinsdale County had an astounding 92 percent voter turnout. This is far above the Colorado average turnout of 48 percent, and the national average of 41 percent.
…. Mineral and San Juan counties, which have voter registration numbers of 126 percent and 112 percent respectively, had voter turnout of 96 and 83 percent respectively.
Jackson, Summit, Cheyenne, and Elbert counties have 111, 107, 105, and 104 percent of their population registered to vote, while managing 71, 44, 71, and 63 percent voter turnout.
Liberals, you got what you wanted ….
When you continue to have problems finding a job, and the government begins to run out of money to support the jobless, don’t complain.
As college degrees become even more worthless while student loans bills hit the mailboxes, don’t complain.
As we finally start to see what’s really going on at the post-Hurricane Sandy eastern seaboard, don’t complain.
When manufacturers start laying off union workers because so few people will have the disposable income to buy what they make, don’t complain.
When gas prices start to go back up because the oil cartels realize our drilling moratoriums will remain in place for at least another four years, don’t complain.
Should we have more tragic examples of “workplace violence” such as what happened at Fort Hood, don’t complain.
When more American embassies become terror targets and more American YouTube video creators are blamed, arrested and jailed despite our First Amendment, don’t complain.
When parents have to start telling their kids not to keep cellphones on the chargers as much because utility costs are rising due to closing power plants, don’t complain.
When single women have trouble finding eligible, working men to use that free birth control on, don’t complain.
When our health care system begins to resemble that of England (and, eventually, Cuba), don’t complain.
When illegal immigrants and radical religious elements are pandered to and the law abiding are forced to live with the failed changes they demanded, don’t complain.
And when the 47 percent becomes 50 percent or higher within the next few years — when the takers outnumber the makers — and they demand higher taxes to support them, don’t complain.
Look forward to an empowered TSA, EPA and IRS and don’t complain.
As for Republicans, if their party intelligentsia continues to seek out candidates they believe will appeal more to liberals and moderates than to its base, don’t complain.
The main objective of the military in most civilized countries is to prevent this chain of articles, programs, books, documentaries, dramatized plays and Matt Damon movies from coming about by making sure that no Incident can ever happen. And the best way to do that is by not fighting. And if the enemy insists on fighting, then he must be fought with razor sharp precision so that no collateral damage takes place. And if someone must die, it had better be our own soldiers, rather than anyone on the other side whose death might be used as an Incident.
The military, whether in the United States or Israel, does not exist to win wars. It exists to win over the people who don’t want it to win a war.
Conflicts begin on the triumphant moral high ground and end with the victors slinking back defeated after an Incident or two has been splashed all over the evening news and the book based on the article on it has already been optioned by Matt Damon’s production company for a movie to be funded by the same people who fund the terrorists.
The war of words, the conflict of images and videos, the clash of arguments, has become the sum of war. And that war is unwinnable because it must be fought on two fronts, against the cultural enemies within and the insurgents outside.
An army cannot win a war and win over the New York Times at the same time. And so long as it fears Incidents more than operating in an aimless counterinsurgency twilight that eventually shades into defeat, then it is bound to lose both to both the terrorists and the New York Times.

Ask not what you can do for your country, but what your new country can do for you.
Stripped down to his sunglasses and hiking boots, McCray Winpsett, 37, said he understands the disgust of residents who would prefer not to see the body modifications and sex enhancement devices sported by some of the Castro nudists. But he thinks Wiener’s prohibition goes too far in undermining a tradition “that keeps San Francisco weird.”
“A few lewd exhibitionists are really ruining it for the rest of us,” he said. “It’s my time to come out now to present myself in a light and show what true nudity is all about so people can separate the difference between what a nudist is and an exhibitionist is.”
It’s San Franfreakshow, did you expect a logical proclamation or something?
Gypsy Taub removed her dress at a committee hearing where the ban had its first public hearing. Taub, a mother of two, said she got her start as a nudist while hosting a local cable program devoted to the theory that the government was behind the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
I just had to include that truther snippet.
» Obama to Congress: I’ll decide what’s constitutional
Congress placed a provision in the $1 trillion omnibus spending bill for 2012 designed to bar the National Institutes of Health (NIH) from using any of its $30.7 billion taxpayer funds to “advocate or promote gun control.” However, upon signing the bill into law, President Obama issued a caveat of his own:I have advised Congress that I will not construe these provisions as preventing me from fulfilling my constitutional responsibility to recommend to the Congress’s consideration such measures as I shall judge necessary and expedient.
In other words: “Congress may pass laws, but I decide which of its laws are constitutional and which I can simply choose to ignore.”
Of course, the Constitution doesn’t actually give the president this power, but Obama won’t allow a little thing like the U.S. Constitution get in his way.
» Sure, our ambassador was murdered and the Obama administration is lying about it, but the real story is that McCain is a grouch
Here’s the rule: When a Republican screws up, that’s the story. When a Democrat screws up, the Republican response is the story.
Just like every other new scheme concocted by the feds, it’s only after states accept the proverbial carrot, they discover too late they opened their gates to a Trojan horse. The federal government’s authority is limited so in order to entice other government entities to participate, they’ll offer an incentive. If a state, local government or public school accepts the pot of money, and in this case agrees to build a state insurance exchange, they become financially responsible to pay for it once the carrot’s gone or if costs exceed annual federal funding …………
The major cause of exploding U.S. heath care costs is the third-party payer system, a text-book concept in which A buys goods or services from B that are paid for by C. Because private insurance companies or the government generally pick up most of the tab for medical services, patients don’t have the normal incentive to seek out value.
The Surgery Center’s consumer-driven model could become increasingly common as Americans look for alternatives to the traditional health care market—an unintended consequence of Obamacare. Patients may have no choice but to look outside the traditional health care industry in the face of higher costs and reduced access to doctors and hospitals.

Coercion is the only problem the combination of human ingenuity and the free market can’t solve. If the government would just leave us alone, we could easily work things out for ourselves.
~~ via MoonBattery.com : Fiscal Cliff Isn’t Steep Enough
If we want a government this size, we are going to have to pay for it. Not even Obama’s planned eat-the-rich looting spree will be enough. For the kind of government we have now, everyone will have to be looted.
