» Lying About School Shootings

The Post is admirably clear that the map includes both colleges and schools, that it counts “any instance in which a firearm was discharged within a school building or on school grounds,” and that the data isn’t “limited to mass shootings like Newtown.” This point has also been made forcefully by Charles C. Johnson, who yesterday looked into each of the 74 incidents and noted that not only did some of them not take place on campuses but that “fewer than 7 of the 74 school shootings listed by #Everytown are mass shootings,” that one or more probably didn’t happen at all, that at least one was actually a case of self-defense, and that 32 could be classified as “school shootings” only if we are to twist the meaning of the term beyond all recognition.

… The point here is not to tell the truth, but to get out the “74 school shootings since Newtown” figure and to turn it into conventional wisdom before anybody can check if it’s actually correct.

Everytown is not the only advocate of gun control that is engaged in a concerted effort to convince the public that gun violence is on the rise. At his White House event yesterday, President Obama insinuated that the United States was uncommonly awash with shootings.

Federal law already requires all stores in all states to run background checks on all purchases — semi-automatic or not. How it is possible that the president can simultaneously consider his failure to amend the nation’s firearms laws to be his biggest failure and have no idea what they actually are?

The answer is that he doesn’t care.

In what other area would the Democratic party put up with its leader confirming that he has absolutely no clue how the laws he wishes to amend actually work, and slip into praising Australian gun confiscation? In what other area would the party of government waste its time going obsessively after a type of weapon that is responsible for about one tenth as many deaths each year as are hammers?

The article linked above made reference to a couple of notable videos:

Rep. DeGette made herself the butt of jokes with this statement:

I will tell you these are ammunition, they’re bullets, so the people who have those now they’re going to shoot them, so if you ban them in the future, the number of these high capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will have been shot and there won’t be any more available.

While she deserves every grain of mockery she got for that, she also said this:

Having these magazine clips …. that have more than 15 rounds in them … there’s really no purpose for those, except for shooting targets or shooting people.

Well bravo, CongressHole DeGette … figgered that out didja?
I reckon she meant that a clipazine that holds less than 15 bullet thingies can be used for something other than shooting targets or people. What? I don’t know.

But it’s time we get one thing straight, lefties, righties, everybody … All gun magazines hold one or more bullets that have one and only one destination, one purpose, one reason for existence: to cause the death of a living thing. And most of them are designed, manufactured and purchased for the express purpose of killing people.

There, I said it. Now let’s all say it together: Guns are for killing people.
But let’s not stop there. Let’s say this all together : Some people need killing, deserve killing … earned it, worked for it … and in too many cases draw government paychecks.

… there’s a bill working its way through the North Carolina Senate to repeal Durham County’s Jim Crow-era firearms registry. Enacted in 1935, the registry was a way for the sheriff to capriciously apply “gun control” to people based on their skin color. The blatantly racist gun registry in Durham County has long outlived its purpose and it needs to go. Now. And we need your help to encourage Thom Tillis to move this bill out of committee and onto the house floor where it can get the fair vote that North Carolinians deserve.

» Hey, You Know Who Else Is A Big Fan Of Gun Control?
oh, lemme guess. Is it a group that is well known for its insistence on controlling all aspects of human life? and well known for killing anybody that disagrees? and grants their women less social status than their goats? and uses children like inflatable sex toys?

Yes, the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Shams (ISIS), the decapitation-minded, crucifying terrorists that were so cruel that they got kicked out of al Qaeda, have something in common with Michael Bloomberg and Shannon Watts …

… It’s almost as if the kind of people who want complete control over every aspect of your life don’t want you to have any ability at all to resist them in the slightest.

That’s 42 total, nation wide. Bloombutt’s investment of multi millions could buy enough short buses for only 42 moonbats?

» Obama’s greatest ‘frustration’ is his failure to trample 2nd Amendment enough

During a question and answer session at the White House Tuesday, President Obama stated that he is often asked what is his biggest reason for disappointment in his time in the White House, and the answer should not surprise gun rights advocates:

My biggest frustration so far, is the fact that this society has not been willing to take some basic steps to keep guns out of the hands of, you know, people …

Yea, I cut short that O-quote. That right there sumzit, the rest was just pap.

Also yesterday, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said in a news briefing that Obama is looking for ways to unilaterally impose more oppressive gun regulation, by executive fiat.

This is not to say that Obama is entertaining thoughts of an executive order implementing mass confiscation of semi-automatic firearms, despite how far such an abomination would go toward easing his “frustration.” Even he very likely knows that he cannot go nearly that far, and if he does not know that, his Secret Service detail should tell him they can’t help him if he insists on going through with such madness. Still, he must have something in mind for these “opportunities to act administratively, unilaterally using his executive authority.”

We still have two and a half years to go before we can fumigate the white house. And in case you haven’t noticed, Obama gets a little more cocky with every executive order. How long before he believes he can do mass confiscation without any blowback? We’re not talking about a sane person here, k?

We gonna need an app for that
» A new bartering economy has emerged with ammo, not dollar bills, as the currency of choice
Smart phone app programmers, take note! Here’s yer chance to write the program that earns millions of TwoTwoThrees, the app that converts ammo values.
Scenario: The plumber charges you twenty 30.06’s and you pay with two dozen 9mm and four .22LR does he owe you change? You don’t know!
But whip out yer smart phone, punch up the ammo calculator and enter 20*30.06 – 24*9mm – 4*.22LR and …..

sorry, I’m typing stupid – moving on now.

I have two state-issued permits in my wallet.

My state-issued driver’s license allows me to get into a car and drive to visit friends in other states. If I decide to drive to visit my friend Pablo in Arizona, or Jacqueline in New York, my North Carolina-issued license will be honored by every law enforcement agency I may encounter along the way.

And driving is not a Constitutionally-protected, unalienable Right that Shall Not Be Infringed!

No reasonable, informed American could possibly consider it acceptable that the likes of Obama and Hillary Clinton rule over this country.

“He [the manager] goes, ‘we don’t want you here, we don’t like what you stand for,’” Thompson said. “I looked at him and just went, ‘Wow.’”

This is not the first time that liberal stupidity has kicked off a major Military Appreciation movement.

“This is not a humanitarian crisis. It is a predictable, orchestrated and contrived assault on the compassionate side of Americans by her political leaders that knowingly puts minor illegal alien children at risk for purely political purposes,” said the statement released by the National Association of Former Border Patrol Officers.

“Certainly, we are not gullible enough to believe that thousands of unaccompanied minor Central American children came to America without the encouragement, aid and assistance of the United States government,” the officers said.

» Ingraham’s Insurrection

It is as much a victory for conservative media — voices like Ingraham, her fellow radio-talk-show host Mark Levin, columnist Ann Coulter, and Internet provocateur Matt Drudge — as it is for Brat. Though national tea-party groups were quick to claim credit for the turn of events — Tea Party Patriots president Jenny Beth Martin congratulated the “local tea-party activists who helped propel him over the top” — they did little to boost his candidacy. It was conservative media figures, Ingraham chief among them, who helped amplify his message beyond what his limited campaign budget — he was outspent by a factor of approximately 40 to 1 — allowed.

National tea-party groups were either not present or silent,” Ingraham says.

I hilited the use of the word ‘national’ in reference to tea party. That’s because I have long disagreed with the use of ‘tea party’ as a noun. It’s more like an adjective of sorts to qualify a conservative movement.
The word ‘conservative’ used to suffice, but after decades of degradation by RINO faux-conservatives the word just didn’t carry the proper punch anymore. For a while ‘tea party’ had to stand in.
Conservatism has no national (or local) organizations, nor are any needed. All that is needed is to reinstate the original and true definition of conservatism – to stop referring to mamby-pams like Cantor as conservative and stop assuming that ‘Republican’ is synonymous to ‘conservative’.

Though rumors were circulating as recently as yesterday that House Republicans were preparing to take up immigration reform once again, Brat’s victory has political analysts on both left and right declaring it dead on arrival.

“Everybody that’s hoping and praying for a Jeb Bush run, they should spend a lot of time focusing on what just happened in Virginia.”

From the comments:

Powerful incumbents will win most of the time because they have the name recognition and money, but for the rank and file the question is are you willing to take that risk? Go ahead and vote for amnesty if you’re feeling lucky punk.

» Brat’s Victory Means Re-evaluation Time for the GOP

Campaign reformers who believe money is the sovereign determinative in elections should consider the contrary evidence of Brat’s $231,000 war chest. Big ideas can have bigger consequences than cash does, and Brat resonated with tea-party types primarily because his campaign vocabulary was that of constitutionally limited government — Tenth Amendment conservatism.

… in a campaign that was mostly about Cantor’s supporting amnesty for 11 million illegal aliens.

This marks the first time a U.S. House majority leader has ever lost a primary election.

» Hey, Mr. Taliban

Obama’s dual views of the Taliban made for an incompatible policy. When playing the role of commander, he delivers applause lines about “pushing the Taliban back” and large numbers of American soldiers were sent to Afghanistan. But the rest of the time he views the Taliban not as an enemy, but like Boko Haram or Hamas, as a group that is acting violently only because their legitimate political needs are not being met.

Some might say that it was as a commander that Obama sent Bowe Bergdahl to Afghanistan, but that it was as an appeaser that he brought him back. And yet both Obamas are the same man. Obama sent Bowe Bergdahl to Afghanistan for the same reason that he brought him back.

This is the discontinuity that bedevils modern liberal foreign policy which fights wars it does not believe in, rejecting war, while still attempting to use force as an instrument of diplomacy.

» Peace? When Palestinians Accept Jews as Neighbors
And when will that be?
Right now pali infants are swaddled in jihadii-like outfits including head bands embroidered with ‘Death To Infidels’. Pali toddlers wear cute little plastic bomb belts and the pali version of ‘toys r us‘ runs sells on play-beheading saws and smells of cordite.

So assuming that the generations being born now will carry on the traditions of their parents then perhaps eight to ten decades from now one or two palis will have a genuine thought ramble through their brain and realize that they are the main impediments to a state of true peace.

Anywhere else in the world, new housing construction to accommodate a growing population would be unobjectionable. But normal standards don’t apply when it comes to the Middle East. Though the Obama administration decided it could support a Palestinian regime backed by Hamas, a notorious terror organization, it pronounced itself “deeply disappointed” by Israel’s plans to construct the new apartments.

» Why One Walmart in North Dakota Is Paying $17.40 an Hour

A Walmart store in Williston, N.D., is offering to pay entry-level workers as much as $17.40 per hour—nearly 2½ times the federal minimum wage—in an effort to compete in one of America’s most dynamic labor markets.

Screech Point 1: Government Mandated Minimum Wage – moot.
Screech Point 2: Necessity of Unions – moot.

North Dakota. What does North Dakota have that California Leftist-run states don’t? I mean besides “America’s most dynamic labor markets“?
