» Lt. Col. Promises to Pry Guns From the Cold Dead Fingers of American Civilians

When the military is controlled by the likes of Bateman, it will be as hostile to the American people as the Soviet Red Army ever was. This is the apparent objective of Obama’s officer purge.

Alarmingly but unsurprisingly, Bateman reportedly works closely with Homeland Security, which under Obama has made it clear that it regards its main enemy to be not Muslim terrorists but patriotic Americans.

» Shades of Vietnam: Spike in U.S. troop deaths tied to stricter rules of engagement

“It is no accident nor a coincidence that from January 2009 to August of 2010, coinciding with the Obama/McChrystal radical change of the [rules of engagement], casualties more than doubled,” Mr. Simmons said. “The carnage will certainly continue as the already fragile and ineffective [rules] have been further weakened by the Obama administration as if they were playground rules.”

Former ArmyCapt. William Swenson, who last month pinned on the Medal of Honor, repeatedly called headquarters to request airstrikes but was denied for hours, as more than 150 Taliban fighters surrounded and attacked his position.

» An Open Letter To American Christians

What in the H E double hockey sticks is the matter with you people!?

take it all for granted; and too many of us sit around on our big fat blessed assurance and do nothing. Too many of us can’t even be bothered to simply register, study up on the candidates, and vote!
Do you realize that 17 million evangelicals failed to vote in 2008?! A similar situation was repeated in 2012! Slothful, disengaged evangelicals put Barack Obama in the White House! He is destroying our country and enslaving our children and grandchildren. He is destroying the Constitution, and with it, liberty.

some of you actually voted for Obama, the most radical pro-abortion public figure ever to disgrace the landscape. Many more of you couldn’t even muster the guts to register and vote against this monster. Yet, you’ll sit at home and talk about how blessed Jesus loves the little children, and isn’t it horrible how other people treat their kids.

If we don’t even have the courage to vote, how on earth will we demonstrate the conviction to speak up, much less die for our faith? No wonder the world takes a dim view of the church and its people. No wonder the church no longer has any moral authority. Our sloth and cowardice is a reproach. Refusing to take a stand for righteousness is unchristian and unpatriotic, and failing to vote is a disgraceful dereliction of duty to God and man.

The Virtual Oval Office has holes in it – exactly 18 holes.

» When Barry Met Kathy

Amid the Obama administration’s endless rounds of finger-pointing and blame-shifting, scant if any attention has been paid to the amount of time and executive leadership the president personally devoted to implementing his signature legislative achievement.
“Nothing frustrates me more than when people aren’t doing their jobs,” Obama has said. So, with so much riding on the line, one would assume he held weekly, if not daily, one-on-one meetings with his Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to isolate problems, challenge assumptions, apply executive pressure where needed and successfully manage a project of scale.
That did not happen

Obama’s calendar lists 277 one-on-one meetings between the president and his other Cabinet secretaries, including 73 with former Secretary Clinton and 57 with former Secretary Geithner. If, as Carney claims, Secretary Sebelius “is here a lot and meets with the president with regularity,” why aren’t they listed? How many meetings took place and when did they occur? Carney said he doesn’t know.
And if Obama and Sebelius worked together closely and regularly, why did the president publicly state he did not know about the problems with

If Sebelius really, really cared as much as Barry about implementation of ‘signature’ legislation she would have done whatever it took to make it happen. The facts are clear, if she wanted face time with Obama she would have taken up golf.

» Obama Acknowledges Pearl Harbor Day With Picture of Himself

The picture barely fits the name of the Arizona Memorial so it can frame Obama in the foreground.

At a certain point, narcissism stops being just one of those things that make jerks jerks, and becomes a genuine personality disorder. With help from the worshipful acolytes with whom he surrounds himself, Obama long ago left that point behind him.

» Obama Needs To Eat Mor Chikin

I’m not sure why people don’t understand businesses are in business to provide a product or service people actually want and make a profit (and a living for their families) — and don’t exist simply to provide jobs.

The government doesn’t need to provide a service people actually want (i.e. Obamacare) because they can just force you to buy it. Chick-fil-A on the other hand needs to provide customers with a tasty, economical meal all the while competing with every other fast food restaurant.

If the cost of doing business goes up, the restaurant owner has to adjust for it one way or the other. Your chicken sandwich might end up costing you six or eight dollars, instead of $2.99 – or your son or daughter (or you) might lose your job completely. Fewer employees mean slower service. When the minimum wage goes up, employers look for candidates with slightly more experience or maturity who are worth the extra money, and more entry-level jobs disappear for young people. For young blacks, with unemployment around 40 percent, it’s a recipe for disaster.

From the comments:

Thats funny, they admit that they could get fast food work because it requires little experience or skills, but they couldn’t figure out thats why they also aren’t worth $15 and hour and are very replaceable.

franchises are “small businesses,” it makes no difference how much the McDonalds corporation makes in profits, because the don’t operate these stores or employ any of these workers anyway.

tricked by unions to unemploy themselves.

» You’ll never believe why Georgia cops arrested this Nissan Leaf owner

Could you get arrested for plugging in your phone at a public building? Well, a man in Georgia was arrested after he plugged in his Nissan Leaf and was charged with “theft of power” from the city. And how much power did he steal? $.05

Point #1 : “Could you get arrested for plugging in your phone at a public building?
Technically, yes?
Point #2 : “ the officer opened his car door without a warrant

I don’t have a college degree, so maybe I’m missing something:
» Feds finance $641 million refinery in Turkey

… while the federal government is offering millions for an oil refinery overseas, only one new refinery has been built in the U.S. since 1977.

“This is the exact kind of refinery that we cannot get permitted here in the U.S.,”

“The federal government will support the construction of facilities and infrastructure in other countries that they won’t allow to be built in the U.S.”

And the BS quote:

“Moreover, the transaction will help a vital industry in Turkey and support 3,000 U.S. jobs across America. The growth we see in the energy sector around the globe bolsters jobs here at home.”

A Few Conclusions available:
1 – The Federal government believes that the portion of global warming they say is due to refineries affects only the environments local to the refineries. That would mean Federal government is stupid.
2 – The Federal government believes that refineries outside of the U.S. do not contribute to the imaginary global warming. That would mean Federal government is stupid.
3 – The Federal government either doesn’t believe or doesn’t care about the hysterical claims of enviro-commies regarding the contribution of refineries to global warming. That would indicate they have other reasons for making it impossible or totally unprofitable for American oil companies to build domestic refineries – deliberately crippling our economy and energy independence.
That would mean Federal government is treacherously evil.
4 – The Federal government, while choking the industry in the U.S., is happy to help foreign oil industry get a leg up. Foreign islamic-controlled industry, that is.
If our Federal government values islamic country economics more than it’s own, that would mean Federal government is treacherously evil.
5 – Or perhaps the Federal government just gets a kick out of dumping as many millions of our dollars as possible outside our borders – treacherously evil.

I can’t conclude anything that doesn’t indicate stupidity or evil.

» Annie Dookhan’s Falsified Lab Data: Symptom of a Corrupted System

Forensics labs, the study says, are funded, in part, per conviction. Not per correct rulings, but per conviction. For example, as of 2012, North Carolina paid $600 “for the services of” the crime lab per conviction. At least 13 other states have similar schemes in place.

Being paid by the state to get convictions isn’t the only way the design breeds corruption.

Given that Massachusetts rewards its police for seizing property and that state crime labs are funded per conviction, is it really such a wonder that Annie Dookhan did what she could to ensure that her lab got as many convictions as possible?

» Snow falling. In Australia. In summer. That is all

Geez, what a bunch of whiners. How many times do we have to explain global warming to them?

~~ via Hope n’ Change Cartoons : Many Are Cold, But Few Are Frozen

We’re taking a snow day today, owing to the circumstances described above. A major ice storm hit north Texas last Thursday and knocked out our electricity and heat for 44 hours. This was amusing for about the first 15 minutes, but after the first full day (and interminable, freezing night) the Jarlsberg family found itself drifting toward Donner Party territory.

The thick ice-covered roads wouldn’t allow an escape attempt, and the temperature inside our home eventually dropped into the 30’s (it seems that Al Gore’s promise that “if you like global warming, you can keep it” was as big a whopper as anything Obama has been saying).
