… those of us who first became aware of Kokesh as the poster boy for “Iraq Veterans Against the War” are unlikely to forget him: A self-righteous half-educated egomaniac strutting for the cameras and insulting people with ridiculous “chickenhawk” and “neocon” slurs
…. His narcissistic camera-hogging and anti-social personality made Kokesh an unwelcome crazy even within the far-left millieu of Bush-era antiwar protests, where mental health was by no means a prerequisite for membership. (Hint: “Sociopath” is not a political philosophy.) Like a few other antiwar oddballs — including the dangerous kook Alex Jones — Kokesh drifted into the Ron Paul orbit, speaking at a Paulista rally during the 2008 GOP convention and then getting himself arrested for heckling John McCain during his acceptance speech. Now, however, Kokesh might finally go to prison where he belongs ….
Kokesh is the living symbol of how unscrupulously the Left provoked and exploited antiwar sentiments during the Bush era. It was the same basic tactic they used with the “Occupy Wall Street” movement and much of the gay-rights movement: Portray Republicans as evil, gin up protest mobs composed of whatever professional ax-grinders, clueless “student activists” and volunteer nutjobs you can collect, and then rely on the biases of liberal media to portray the orchestrated result as a spontaneous expression of Wholesome Main Street Middle America.
How many times during the Bush years did I go to one of these “mainstream” rallies in D.C. and see the swarms of Marxist organization — the Workers World Party, the Revolutionary Communist Party, the Communist Party USA, etc. — and their affiliated front groups in broad daylight with banners flying, handing out their newspapers, pamphlets, fliers, bumper stickers and so forth? You quite literally could not walk into the Ellipse or LaFayette Park or wherever else these protests assembled without being approached by people trying to hand you the WWP newspaper Workers World, which was not a coincidence since the WWP’s front group International ANSWER was usually the chief organizer of the protests.
Somehow, the liberal media never found time to report any of that, but would invariably search through the crowds of Commie kooks until they found someone who could be plausibly presented as “mainstream” — the housewife, the retiree, the wholesome-looking college coed — and who might in the course of a three- or four-minute interview say a couple of non-crazy sentences worth quoting.
There was a template to these kinds of antiwar protest stories, you see — a narrative, a meme — and this required ignoring the Marxists and other deranged rabble who formed the actual core of the movement that the media wanted to promote as mainstream.
This 12 year old Egyptian boy has more knowledge, more comprehension and more morals than the President of the United States.
And he didn’t have a teleprompter !!!!!
~~ via Maggie : Egyptian Boy, Ali Ahmed 12 Years Old Explains The Problem With Muslim Brotherhood – Inspiring!
The young man below identifies himself as Ali Ahmed. I hope the name is a pseudonym. Ali and the adult man you see briefly with him could be in danger although the video is dated March 2013. He systematically excoriates the Muslim Brotherhood. He talks about “Islamists” and “religion” and “women” and “Fascist Theocracy” and he’s only 12 years old. He clearly is not reading. He knows what he knows. There is talk of “social justice” and if I lived in Egypt I would be wanting some social justice as well. He also believes his “religion” has been misrepresented. Reconciling that will be a hard lesson for him in the future. Fascinating. Watch his face as he speaks. How many Ali Ahmed’s are there like this Ali Ahmed, and wouldn’t you love to know more about his family? I would.
TaxProf has been running a daily roundup on the IRS “scandal,” now in the middle-to-late stages of fading into oblivion with not one soul there being fired, much less jailed. He’s up to Day 61; his faith is touching, and he’s certainly fighting the good fight trying to keep interest up and all. But I wonder how high he’ll go before he finally gives it up as a lost cause. I look forward with decidedly mixed emotions to seeing the Day 524 update.
….
The evil homunculi running things know that waiting us out and stonewalling is all they really need to do; seeing time pass without a whisper of meaningful change is demoralizing all in itself, and reinforces the idea that you really can’t fight city hall pretty nicely. And the GOP, not to leave them out of our considerations here, know that the quickest way to get people tuned out is to blather on and on about how Section 42, Paragraph 387 of their new Nibbling Around The Edges And Shuffling Things Around Act is going to fix things for good this time, yessireebob.
It’s an involuntary case based on insufficient evidence whose course was compelled by government intervention. And like the tribunals of the French Revolution or the Moscow Trials; it’s there to teach us something. And the thing it’s there to teach us is racism hysteria.
… the new taboos are political and the new witch hunts are all about exposing hidden reservoirs of bigotry among celebrity chefs and lurking White Hispanic menaces.
… Racial tolerance has long since become racial denunciation. Tolerance has become paranoia. The fear of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. Of giving the wrong impression. Of failing to be properly guilty for some vague complicity of privilege and oppression. Those fears and guilts must be constantly reinvigorated with fresh doses of trials and denunciations. Public spectacles to serve as reminders that the greatest evil of all lurks everywhere and that we must stand vigilant against it.
» ZIMMERMAN TRIAL IS THIS YEAR’S DUKE LACROSSE CASE
It’s becoming painfully obvious why no charges were brought against Zimmerman in this case — until Al Sharpton got involved. All the eyewitness accounts, testimony, ballistics and forensics keep backing up Zimmerman. We should send a big, fat bill for the whole thing to Sharpton, courtesy of MSNBC.
With the prosecution’s witnesses making the defense’s case, the inquisitors’ last stand is to claim that, if the races were reversed, the black guy would have been instantly charged with murder.
…
The people who say this are counting on the rest of us being too polite to mention that it is nearly impossible to imagine such a case in a world where half of all murders and a majority of robberies are committed by blacks. To reverse the races with the same set of facts, first, we’re going to need a gated, mixed-race community, similar to the Retreat at Twin Lakes, that has recently experienced a rash of robberies by white guys. The only way to do that is to enter “The Twilight Zone.”
…
The pursuit of bigotry has as little to do with fighting actual racism as witch hunts had to do with hunting actual witches. Real Neo-Nazis and Klansmen can’t get arrested in this town. Overt bigotry is boring and actual racists have taken to showing up at courthouses in Nazi uniforms to get attention. . There’s no point in hunting a witch who boasts about her witchcraft. There’s no sport to it.The whole point of baiting a bear is to get the bear to react. The Roman arenas wouldn’t have lasted very long without gladiators willing to fight. And the entire tawdry spectacle of the trial and the morality mob requires cooperating defendants who care what the faceless mass audience thinks of them and try to prove their innocence.

To use the words of a certain half-white president, “Let me be perfectly clear” ….
Leftist charges of racism mean absolutely nothing to me.
I have no guilt for them to play with.
The United States no longer leads the world in space or in many areas of science and technology. Its literature has become forgettable and the great skyscrapers are being built in Asia and the Middle East. But it leads the world in racial hysteria, an obsession as irrational as the satanic sex abuse kindergartens and the witch trials. We can’t go back to the moon, but our social engineers stalk the corridors of power with microscopes that claim to peer into the human heart.

“These documents detail the extraordinary intervention by the Justice Department in the pressure campaign leading to the prosecution of George Zimmerman,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “My guess is that most Americans would rightly object to taxpayers paying government employees to help organize racially-charged demonstrations.”
My guess is that all Americans should be enraged by the U.S. D.O.J. using our money or anybody else’s to instigate racially motivated strife in the citizenry and directly influence the flow of a trial in order to bias the outcome … although no one is really surprised to learn this, considering the multitude of indictable crimes perpetrated by the current so-called Attorney General.
» Schools Abandon Michelle Obama’s Lunch Campaign
In a statement, a member of the New York State Department of Education’s Board of Regents said the mistakes indicated that a stable administration was essential for children to get a good education. The statement said, “Hempstead has not had a stable administration for a long time and the kids are suffering.”
I doubt that the Board of Regents member actually understands how fundamentally accurate was that portion of his statement. While the school admins’ primary objective is to indoctrinate the kids in “Progressive” Socialism the Three R’s have been reduced in priority to fluff and filler – ranking just slightly below the crafting of pot holders.
Civics? Well, you can’t teach something you can’t spell.
From the comments:
“Because we are human, mistakes can almost always be expected” — I totally reject that statement. That’s one of the problems with education these days — settling for mediocrity. Proofreading small handouts for students should provide perfect spelling and grammar — no excuse.
… modern teachers remind me of the Bill Murray character from the movie “Ghostbusters”. If challenged about his complete lack of understanding his response was, “Back off, I’m a scientist” Our current education system is wholy dysfuctional serving little function other than indoctronate and promote left-wing ideals. All the while the educators and union leaders get away with, “Back off, I’m a teacher”.
… “The truth of a proposition is proven by its practical outcome”.
… teachers are dismissive and arrogant about their own mistakes. Yet these are the same people that declare they are professionals and you do not understand the educational process- back off is the message.
… Ain’t diversity great?
A neighbor went to their kids school and a teacher said,
“I be your son’s English teacher.”
Obama and the Democrats have accomplished more in the past 4 years to fundamentally alter America than Republicans have ever accomplished in pursuit of our agenda in a century. We can no longer afford to send members to Congress who will go for bunts and defensive plays when Democrats successfully hit grand slam after grand slam when they are in power. Worse, we continue to elect Republicans who score points for the other team.

Case in Point
Now is the time for Republicans to begin picking the best conservatives in primaries, particularly from strong states. Now is the time to charge the country club and change the face of the Republican Party. Now is the time to step back from the generic red vs. blue fight and make sure that what we are looking at is indeed red.
» Vt. B&B settles lawsuit with gay couple
“Every American should be free to live and do business consistent with their deeply held beliefs. It is unfortunate when a state agency teams up with the ACLU to harass and punish a private family business over its owners’ constitutionally protected thoughts and beliefs. Legal attacks like this one are not pursuits for justice, but attempts to coerce and police private expression.”
If a business owner follows the doctrines of their religion and publicly proclaim their faith and beliefs, they will become a target of the Left and their own government; they will be badgered, prosecuted, fined and possibly jailed, their business likely to bankrupted and become a pariah of their neighborhood – – – unless, of course, they are muslim.
Heard of any homerseckshuls trying to force a Halal bakery into making them a cake? I can answer that one for you … hell no. Ain’t gonna happen.
And that makes sense, actually. Bullies don’t try to bully someone that would simply whack their heads off – especially when there’s so many cheek-turners to pick on.
There are two points that should be noted
– that they always do this with the aid of government
– no retribution is ever suggested by so-called civil rights activists against businesses that discriminate against potential customers based on their belief in the 2nd Amendment … you know? An actual arnest-to-goodness Right.
» ‘Free Jahar’ Chant As Boston Bombing Suspect Heads To Court
A group of about a dozen supporters cheered as the motorcade carrying Tsarnaev arrived at the courthouse. The demonstrators yelled “Justice for Jahar,” as Tsarnaev is known. One woman held a sign that said, “Free Jahar.”
Others held signs claiming Tsarnaev’s innocence, while suggesting elaborate conspiracies surrounding the bombing and Tsarnaev’s arrest.
Sounds familiar. Where have I heard that sorta insanity before?
Oh yea, it couldn’t have been muslims that flew planes into buildings …
Because the poor lil muzzie could not possibly be the bad guy – despite the evidence, despite the history, despite the constant assurance from the followers of Mo-Pycho-Pedophile-SerialKiller-Hammed that they will eventually dominate or exterminate all of us infidels.
… he got a Justice Department letter explaining that he was legally disqualified from owning guns, after handling them in defense of his country for two decades, because of a 42-year-old marijuana conviction.
Kelly’s disqualification may in fact be unjustified under current law, which bars gun sales to people convicted of felonies but not misdemeanors (except for misdemeanors involving domestic violence). Unless the feds are treating what North Carolina called a misdemeanor as a felony for some reason, Kelly’s pot conviction should not be covered by that provision.
Geez, you’d think he was running for president or something … yakkin’ about hopesy and changy.

Hurray! Our gummint musta saved so much money by telling the troops at Lejeune and Ft Bragg ‘Screw You’ – that we can afford something really important:
» Taxpayer-funded research lets people experience what it feels like to be a cow
Would experiencing a day in the life of a cow make you less likely to eat meat? How would chopping down a tree affect your paper usage? These are questions that the National Science Foundation awarded universities $748,000 dollars to use virtual reality to answer.
“If somebody becomes an animal, do they gain empathy for that animal and think about its plight?” asked Jeremy Bailenson, director of Stanford University’s Virtual Human Interaction Lab. “In this case, empathy toward the animal also coincides with an environmental benefit, which is that [not eating] animals consumes less energy.”
…
Some researchers argue that virtual reality can alter people’s behavior and change their attitudes with respect to environmental issues like global warming.
…
“Once I got used to it I began to feel like I was the cow,” wrote one participant. “I truly felt like I was going to the slaughter house towards the end and I felt sad that I (as a cow) was going to die. That last prod felt really sad.”
Geez, who’da guessed it was cheaper to turn morons into cows than funding a couple of fireworks shows?
On the other hand, if they could make a cow feel like a moonbat leftist moron, it would probably stampede to the slaughter house to end the degradation of it’s morals and IQ.

» Study Confirms: More CO2 Means More Plant Growth
Just because temperatures have leveled off — in dramatic contrast to the socialist climate models — doesn’t mean there hasn’t been a large increase in CO2, or that this increase hasn’t had an effect. The effect, to the surprise of no one who made it through sixth grade science class, has been beneficial

Only one end of the political spectrum could object to producing more life. Obama recently announced a new jihad to bypass Congress so as to cripple the energy industry in the name of reducing life-giving carbon emissions.
