The British Army, along with their Navy and Marines had occupied Boston since 1768. The following are the battles fought before and after America actually had an official Army, rather than the magnificent “rabble” who accomplished so much, with so little.

It’s the celebratory anniversary of America’s Independence Day, July 4th, 2013. In 1776, it was on a Tuesday, July 2nd at about 10 p.m. on a hot and rainy night when the Colonies changed the world by casting their votes for American sovereignty. A second vote was taken on July 4th with the same result. America would declare it’s independence. Little, if anything, today comes close to the Liberty the Founders designed so devotedly and with unthinkable risks of their lives, their family’s lives, and their livelihoods. The men in that intolerably, but so patiently tolerated, steamy room that night were our Defending Fathers. We have not defended what they provided for us – another uniquely American world-changing fact.

Sovereignty – the lack of it, should be our biggest concern today, but few think of the word “sovereign” and what it means to their individual liberty.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”

That is not merely some bland reference to a mass of people. There is no collective here, only the individual. The greater good of independence is not some system that will meet with the approval of the mass, but that will make it possible for the individual, each individual, to live a free life, not a life lived purely for the good of the mass, but for his own sake.

In a time when government mandates caloric consumption, cracks down on cold medicines and regulates every aspect of daily life for the greater good– the declaration that started it all declares that the purpose of government is not social justice, a minimally obese population, universal tolerance or even equality. Equality is acknowledged as a fact, not as a goal. Instead the goal of government is to allow people to be happy.

“It’s unfortunate there are university officials out there who think that it’s okay to tell Christians to hide their faith – but would cringe if somebody said the same thing about hiding someone’s pride in whatever political or cultural affiliation they may have …”

… especially when we know, without doubt, that if the student had covered her head and face with some sort of muslim garb the university officials would have buttoned their lips. Not only that, but would have ejected anyone who complained about it.

University spokeswoman Susan Kashack confirmed to Fox News that the incident occurred and expressed extreme regret.
“Someone who works here was concerned that the cross might be off-putting to students who are coming to campus for the first time,” she said, adding that the supervisor was “completely wrong.”
“It was absolutely an inappropriate action for him to make that request of her,” she said.
Kashack said Sonoma State President Ruben Arminana was “angered” by the incident and they are trying to contact Jarvis so they can apologize.

Angered to apology? After several decades of actively diluting the meaning of religious freedom, the intent of the First Amendment – a university is angered that one of their comrades acted out and walked the talk.

As an individual citizen who is endowed with the unalienable right of free speech, California resident Jeff Olson began scrawling anti-megabank messages in water soluble chalk on sidewalks last year in San Diego. For this he was charged with vandalism.

But before the trial got underway Judge Howard Shore granted a motion from the state prosecutor that would forbid Olson’s attorney from using the Constitutional right of free speech as a defense of his client.

Courts have ruled that citizens can burn the American flag as a symbol of free speech and free expression, and yet a citizen cannot express outrage at a bank by scribbling messages on a sidewalk outside, messages written in water soluble chalk that can be easily washed away with water or a good rain.

But America has entered a new era with Obama and his enablers in Congress and in the Courts. Judges have also ruled that the Second Amendment cannot be used as an argument in gun rights cases. In other words, increasingly the black robed scoundrels are totally discarding the Constitution as the final basis for U.S. law.

Burning our flag? That’s free speech.
Parade in the middle of the street, waggin’ yer weenie? That is free speech too.
Crap in a mailbox … free speech.
Spray paint commie slogans on the steps of the Nation’s Capital? free frikkin’ speech, Dude.
Vandalize a war memorial, do permanent damage … don’t even ask.

Write a message on the sidewalk with chalk, free speech? Duh … maybe. Maybe not. It depends … the First is a little watery these days, hard to tell.

Rights are created from nothing but notion and won by hissy fit.

While one student ‘wins the right’ to display the flag of a nation that doesn’t exist – never existed, students in other schools are forbidden to display the American flag … lest it offend someone … presumably someone that harbors far more allegiance to other countries than “their own” … even countries that don’t exist.
So not only does our government-run schools dilute the concept of national pride but waters down the definition of Rights.
Since Rights, the real Rights, are enumerated by the Constitution, the constant willy-nilly fabrication of new rights serves to negate the authority of the Constitution.


… the Employer Mandate is mandatory. The law Congress wrote explicitly commands that this provision takes effect in January 2014. The ACA does not permit the government to grant a reprieve or an extension.
Yet in a blatantly illegal move, the Obama administration is presuming to rewrite the ACA by choosing not to enforce provisions that are causing visible problems. The IRS—which is tasked with enforcing the Employer Mandate—will simply not enforce it until 2015.
… Obama will delay the most onerous parts of Obamacare until after the 2014 elections in an attempt to keep the Senate and retake the House …

If the ACA had provision in it to allow amendment by the Executive Branch, then this would just be a matter of Presidential Butt Coverage. Specifically, the president is trying to cover the butt of the Dhimmicrat party:
Knowing that the ACA is a stinker of a law and that if allowed to become active before 2014 elections some of the ignorant voters that Dhimmicrats depend on may be a little pissed off about being forced to pay through the nose for health care that was promised to be free.
So, to keep those ignorant voters in check … keep em corralled, the Dhimmicrat party has no qualms over their president making changes to the law all by himself. No, the pesky Constitution doesn’t provide that authority to the president but it’s no biggie – just another slight infraction. Ignore a clause here, thumb your nose at an entire section there, poo-poo entire amendments and voila! the whole thing is irrelevant. Just a list of suggestions inked on an old yellow piece of parchment.

Representatives of Africa are stepping up and asking whether it is truly a just climate policy to pay a poor African to remain poor.

Vast sums of money are changing hands, but not to the benefit of Africa’s poor.

A growing number of Africans are saying “no!” to forestry and “carbon soil” projects which would use their land for carbon credit schemes. These carbon schemes require poor people in developing nations to lock their land into subsidized less productive uses. The bulk of the profit goes to local elites and carbon investors from western nations

… a $2.5 million carbon offset scheme in Kenya broke down to $1.05 million for Swedish and other operators from the west, while requiring 60,000 Kenyan farmers to share the remainder which comes out to $23.83 each over 20 years, or just over one dollar each per year. In exchange for their dollar these African farmers must lock themselves into burdensome farming requirements and most importantly, lock themselves into poverty and out of the high yield farming which has essentially ended starvation in the west

Climate Change advocates ( aka Global Warming advocates, formerly known as Global Cooling advocates, aka Luddites but best defined as communists) want Africans to cease the use of their lands in making food so that they [the greenies] can sell the knowledge of unused, static, wasted land as an offset of their excessive and wasteful lifestyles.
That didna makum no sense? Lemme try again …
Al Gore can make amends for his extravagant climate-abusing use of his own land by paying money for land elsewhere to be unused. He gets to ‘create’ as much carbon dioxide as he pleases and feel no guilt as long as somebody else’s land is not used to create carbon dioxide.
Ok, it still don’t make any sense … but that’s the point.

Should Africans be willing to lock themselves into poverty to make rich nations feel better about themselves? Those who truly care about Africa will help them instead onto a constructive course. Let African industry arise. Let high yield farming eliminate starvation. Only a prosperous Africa with the means to provide its people with the education, health care, nutrition and prosperity developed nations take for granted should be acceptable to Africans and to Africa’s true friends.

All this moral melodrama has served as a background for the political agenda of the left, which has claimed to be able to lift the poor out of poverty and in general make the world a better place. This claim has been made for centuries, and in countries around the world. And it has failed for centuries in countries around the world.

His collected speeches are in danger of being shelved while he is still in office. The binding would read: Presidential Addresses to the People. Or, for short, P.A.P.
