InBox: Time to take a Hero fishing

Hello folks,

I am contacting you again because you have helped us in the past and I hope you will help us this year to take a HERO fishing.

This year has been especially tough raising funds for MAD 7 due to the economy. Nevertheless, the dedicated folks that call themselves MAD are going to forge ahead and have MAD 7.

This is who we are:

This is what we do:

Our troops are tired, they are under-supported and often forgotten.

MAD does all this for FREE for our TROOPS, OUR HEROES! They are treated to a day of deep sea fishing, onshore family activities and a southern style BBQ at the end of the day. It is our way of saying One, Simple, THANKS!

Will you help us make this happen this year? We need the following:

Money: any amount will help. You can donate on line here: or mail a check to Military Appreciation Day, Inc P.O. Box 77453 Charlotte, NC 28271-7010.

We need folks with boats willing to take some heroes out fishing on June 2nd, leaving from Morehead City NC.

Our food needs are 350 hamburger patties and 200 slices of cheese. We have secured hotdogs at a price of $12 per 100 and need about 800 hotdogs if anyone wants to step up and finance them. We need a dessert to feed about 400.

We need folks to help us serve the meals at 11:30 and 5:00 on Saturday. We have a Captains’ meal on Friday night for the volunteers and will need servers then as well.

I hope that what MAD stands for and the video of what we do will help you make the decision to help us this year.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope you will help take some real HEROES fishing. Ideas and contacts to make this happen are appreciated. If you cannot help, please pass this email forward.

Feel free to contact Bubba or myself with any questions.

» May 1: When The Answer For ‘Y’ Is ‘Me’

The Occupiers plan on getting their point across on May 1. They are the selfish, the self-absorbed… they are the youth.
These are young people who are empty inside. In the coming days, weeks, and months, we will all see the humanity blocking streets, access to places of business, vandalizing store fronts, overturning cars and trash receptacles, looting, and finally taking over large areas so they can crash.

They are also protesting because some of the agreements they entered into, such as a student loan, are just too inconvenient to be kept. A lot of this is our fault because we fed Gen Y and Me. We kept them warm. We told them they were special and expected very little of them in return.

Gokce, a soft-spoken 37-year-old mother of two, has lived on the run for 15 years, ever since her abusive husband tracked her down, broke down her door and shot her in the leg six times after she refused to return to him.

Stoic and prematurely graying, she said her husband had since kidnapped her mother and stabbed her brother, trying to force them to reveal her whereabouts. She repeatedly turned to the police. But, she said, they chided her to return to her husband. Once, after her husband came to pick her up at the police station, she said she heard an officer advise him to break her legs so she could not escape.
In February 2011, Turkey’s justice minister shocked the country when, in response to a parliamentary question, he said that there had been a staggering increase in the murders of women, from 66 in 2002, to 953 in the first seven months of 2009.

» Free Speech Found Guilty by Europe

… while Judaism and Christianity can be disparaged with impunity in postmodern multicultural Austria, speaking the truth about Islam is subject to swift and hefty legal penalties.

…. an Austrian politician and Member of Parliament, was convicted in January 2009 for the “crime” of saying that “in today’s system” the Islamic prophet Mohammed would be considered a “child molester.”

…. a Danish politician and Member of Parliament, was found guilty of hate speech in December 2010 for saying that honor killings and sexual abuse take place in Muslim families.

Langballe was denied the opportunity to prove his assertions because under Danish law it is immaterial whether a statement is true or false. All that is needed for a conviction is for someone to feel offended. Langballe was summarily sentenced to pay a fine of 5,000 Danish Kroner ($850) or spend ten days in jail.

…. Finland, … a politician and well-known political commentator, was taken to court in March 2009 on charges of “incitement against an ethnic group” and “breach of the sanctity of religion” for saying that Islam is a religion of pedophilia

…. in France, Marie Laforêt, one of the country’s most well-known singers and actresses, appeared in a Paris courtroom in December 2011 to defend herself against charges that a job advertisement she placed discriminated against Muslims.

The 72-year-old Laforêt had placed an ad on an Internet website looking for someone to do some work on her terrace in 2009. She specified in the ad that “people with allergies or orthodox Muslims” should not apply “due to a small Chihuahua.” Laforêt claimed that she made the stipulation because she believed the Muslim faith views dogs as unclean animals.

The case was taken up by an anti-discrimination group called the Movement against Racism and for Friendship between Peoples (MRAP), which lodged a criminal complaint against Laforêt. Her lawyer said Laforêt “knew that the presence of a dog could conflict with the religious convictions of orthodox Muslims. It was a sign of respect.” But Muslims rejected her defense.

And on it goes …. on and on and on and on.

» Judge rules enforcing Muslim law on everyone not establishment of religion

A federal judge says an Ohio prison that forces all inmates to adhere to a strict Islamic diet is not an establishment of religion because everyone eats the same food.
Former Navy chaplain Dr. Gordon Klingenschmitt says while the judge ruled it is acceptable to force all non-Muslims to adhere to a Muslim diet, Christians have no dietary rights.
“This is another example of the Islamicization [sic] of America. It’s establishing Islam as the state religion of the prison system,” Klingenschmitt contends. “The judge’s reasoning is this: He said as long as all of the prisoners are forced to eat the same food, then there’s no discrimination taking place. In other words, if he enforces Muslim law equally, then there’s no establishment of religion. I think that’s wrong, and I pray this is overturned on the appeal.”

» Chechen women in mortal fear as president backs honor killings

In the past five years, the bodies of dozens of young Chechen women have been found dumped in woods, abandoned in alleys and left along roads in the capital, Grozny, and neighboring villages.

Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov publicly announced that the dead women had “loose morals” and were rightfully shot by male relatives. He went on to describe women as the property of their husbands, and said their main role is to bear children.

Try this thought experiment: You decide to donate money to Mitt Romney. You want change in the Oval Office, so you engage in your democratic right to send a check.

Several days later, President Barack Obama, the most powerful man on the planet, singles you out by name. His campaign brands you a Romney donor, shames you for “betting against America,” and accuses you of having a “less-than-reputable” record. The message from the man who controls the Justice Department (which can indict you), the SEC (which can fine you), and the IRS (which can audit you), is clear: You made a mistake donating that money.

A defiant Cybill Shepherd shocked “CBS This Morning” television viewers Friday when she announced she would not be wearing a bulletproof vest when she marches on Washington to protest the war on women. Stunned viewers sat open mouthed, some admitted weeping while others sought counsel from clergy. One woman has already begun a drive to raise funds to pay for Cybill Shepherd’s hospital and/or funeral costs, asking donors to dig deep so that when Shepherd is shot her grown children can take a Caribbean cruise in her memory.

It didn’t take long before comparisons to Martin Luther King began escalating. A source close to Shepherd said the actress is studying Dr. King’s teachings in preparation for her own demise at the hands of an assassin.

Global Warming rhetoric is still couched in the usual social justice rhetoric, aimed at the poorer kleptocracies who are eager to join the line for a handout, but its logic is poverty driven. It is not out to create wealth, but to eliminate it, on the grounds that cheaply available food or electricity is an immoral activity that damages the planet.

Is the ALA a worthy charity? Perhaps, but its alliance with the Eco-Marxists — and its reliance on “Stimulus” grants — makes its reports utterly suspect. In fact, the ALA’s reports — seeing as they are involuntarily funded by the taxpayers — must be disregarded.

» Drats! Down the warmhole the warming went

Climate scientists at the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) have discovered that particulate pollution in the late 20th century created a “warming hole” over the eastern United States—that is, a cold patch where the effects of global warming were temporarily obscured.

Eh? What?
If you read the whole article (I did, – don’t recommend doing so) the jist (I think) is that the eastern US has been sitting under a pollution cloud that makes it cooler over here. Which is why we eastern USers think global warming is a load of BS. We don’t know better – ain’t witnessed anybody exploding into flames or whatever is supposed to be happening to folks in other parts of the world that are getting toasted by the global warmsies.
The good news, I reckon, is that soons they drain taxpayer’s wallets enough for that cloud to move on, then we deniers on the east coast can get fried along with the rest of you.

The only answer to this problem of human existence is to cull most of us, about now Ehrlich and his gang are probably looking at a way to manufacture Zyklon B in an environmentally friendly way, using sustainable products sourced from Fairtrade suppliers, all powered by renewable energy of course.

The reasoning behind culling the population is simple, there are too many people and they will die in some natural catastrophe, virus outbreak or war, so lets not waste any more time and kill them now, to save them from being killed later on.

At the same time all forms of political dissent could be eradicated

In 2008, whatever Obama told the empty-headed college kids worked. As the quintessential political prostitute, Obama put on ANY dress his customers wanted him to wear. “Lower student loan rates than those evil Republicans want you to have? You bet!” “More free stuff from the government? Coming right up!” “I’m the one you’ve been waiting for, can’t you see that?” “Blah blah blah, hope and change blah blah blah, you know what THAT means don’t you?” They didn’t, but that made no difference because voting for a black man PROVED that their generation was better than their parents’ generation. They ate up Obama’s Hope and Change babble and marched like zombies to vote for a man whom they really had no information about. Obama won their vote 2 to 1.

Today, all of that is gone.

#1 Back in 1995, the U.S. Geological Survey told the American people that the Bakken Shale formation in western North Dakota and eastern Montana only held 151 million barrels of oil. Today, government officials are admitting that it holds 4.3 billion barrels of recoverable oil, and some analysts believe that the actual number could be closer to 20 billion barrels of oil.

#2 It is estimated that there are up to 19 billion barrels of recoverable oil deposits in the tar sands of Utah.

#3 It is estimated that there are at least 86 billion barrels of recoverable oil deposits in the Outer Continental Shelf.

#4 It is believed that there are 800 billion barrels of recoverable oil deposits in the Green River formation in Wyoming.

#5 Overall, the United States is sitting on approximately 1.442 trillion barrels of recoverable oil deposits.

#6 According to the Institute of Energy Research, the United States has a 120 year supply of natural gas.

#7 According to the Institute of Energy Research, the United States has a 200 year supply of oil.

#8 According to the Institute of Energy Research, the United States has a 464 year supply of coal.

#9 According to Pastor Lindsey Williams, absolutely gigantic oil fields have been discovered up in Alaska that the American public is not being told about.

#10 Goldman Sachs is predicting that the United States will be the number one oil producing country in the world by the year 2017.

This feels like a good spot for a re-run

» Sultan Knish: Friday Afternoon Roundup – Builders and Destroyers

The entertainment industry did not tell Martin what would happen if he assaulted an adult man who was concerned about the neighborhood, while Martin was concerned about getting the “Respect” that gangsta culture told him he was entitled to by virtue of his posing.

Martin did not understand that life was different than gangsta culture. That men who have guns don’t necessarily go waving them around. And that sometimes when you have someone down on the ground and you’re beating on them, they will use what they have.

Had Martin killed Zimmerman, he would be preening for the cameras now, the defiant upward head tilt you see so often in court photos. The pose that says, “I don’t care, because I’m too cool to care.” It’s the pose that the man who might have been Martin’s father often wears to tell us that he’s going to go on doing whatever he likes, because he can.

But that’s not what you see in Zimmerman’s face, it’s not just regret, it’s pain. Zimmerman did not intend to take another human life, and he regrets that and regrets how society sees him, and he is coming to terms with doing what he had to do. There is a basic decency in his expression which cannot be photoshopped onto Martin’s face. The photoshopping can pale his skin, younger photos can make him look innocent, but nothing can make him look decent.

Zimmerman quoted Burke. Martin quoted hip hop. That was the fundamental difference between the two men, not race, but culture. Zimmerman aspired to be a good human being. Martin aspired to be street trash.

» Let’s Not Ignore November or Roll Over for Romney

If you are not going to vote for Romney, then you need to double your efforts to get constitutionalists in office who will (1) support Romney when he’s right on an issue and (2) oppose him when he’s wrong. If Romney loses, the tactic is still applicable. Stopping Obama is priority number 1.

”Every one of the criminals who has shot at our police officers possessed his gun illegally. Every one. And make no mistake: It will happen again — and again — until those in Washington stop cowering before the gun lobby.”

Mayor Bloomberg actually said that. It makes no sense. None at all. But it’s representative of the mind of the leftist anti-gun bigots.

Using the murder of policemen as reinforcement of his gun-ban laws, this idiot says that all the guns used were illegal and that – what? …. making those guns more illegal is gonna make a cop killer rethink his choice of weapons? How illegal do you have to make guns, before criminals stop using them? Or a better question: How illegal can you make guns? If the cop killer is defiant and determined enough to risk life in prison and/or execution for the murder how illegal do you have to make the gun before said cop killer decides it would be in his best interest to use a slingshot instead?

There are two conclusions I can make from Bloomberg’s illogical statement: One, he is insane. Or two, he doesn’t care enough about the dead cops (or any other ‘gun-violence’ victim) to even consider the stupidity of his logic. His concern is the advancement of his ideology, his agenda to disarm Americans.

» Mayor Bloomberg’s Declaration of War Against Guns

Ok, I am going to need help with this one. How does an increase in gun laws keep criminals from getting guns that they ALREADY obtained illegally? This would make more sense if the guns that were used were purchased in accordance with all applicable gun laws for that state. No matter how many laws are put in place, criminals will find a way to get their guns. This has been and always will be true. That is why they are called criminals. It is infuriating to listen to the Gun Control crowd and their explanations. They honestly think we are sheep, unable to think. Even a 5 year old child could point out the flaws.

» Feinstein continues to misrepresent Mexican gun tracing numbers

This column predicted yesterday that “What we will no doubt hear the loudest after the fact will be…that the biggest problem Mexico faces in re arming cartels is the private ownership of guns in the U.S.,” and Feinstein’s release exceeds expectations, especially since reading down deeper into the text is the buried admission that the percentage represents firearms “recovered in Mexico and submitted to ATF for tracing.”

That’s a critically important distinction, and one that’s been intentionally obscured by committed citizen disarmament proponents who value control over freedom, and who first represented the total numbers as “95 to 100 percent,” and who then, refusing to cede to the truth, have been nonetheless pushed back by it to renew their stand at the 90 percent, 80 percent and 70 percent levels…

The GOP Establishment we keep hearing about is real, and it is also doomed.

That will not change whether the Establishment’s candidate Mitt Romney wins in November or not. After the election, the battle really starts; what is happening now are just skirmishes in a fight for control of the Republican Party. Not the soul of the party – if it had one, it auctioned it off long ago – but the mechanism of the party. The Grand Old Party matters only as a vehicle to carry our banner forward.

To do that, we need to seize control, and we do that by destroying the Establishment starting next November 7th

After strangling bin Laden with his bare hands, and singlehandedly ending terror worldwide, and with the tide of war ebbing, he has come to the conclusion the nation doesn’t need a defense. Besides, no matter how much he spends, or how powerful our armed forces remain or become, he will never get credit, because the heroes of America’s military are the men and woman who volunteer to stand on that wall, ever-vigilant, so that demagogues like Barack Obama can be successful, while despising them and the sacrifice they make for their country.
The F-22 may be the most advanced fighter in the world, but how would Barack take credit for that? Better to cancel it and spend the money winning a future “built to last.”
This article covers just a few topics. The president has equally disastrous plans for international affairs, race relations, government ubiquity, union primacy, guns, taxes, health care, and the judiciary. Every single aspect of American life will be affected in Barack II.
The theme of Obama’s re-election campaign is “We can’t wait.” If Barack Obama is re-elected, Americans will soon long for the misery of “hope and change.”

What’s worse than the specific tasks prohibited by this DOL rule is the very idea that a bunch of Washington bureaucrats think they have a higher level of parental wisdom than do the actual parents. Even worse, is their blatant arrogance that compels them to impose their ideas on the public.

Obama and most of his appointees have demonstrated a belief that they know best how everyone else should live. They have not been at all reluctant to impose their ideas – whether or not they authorized by the Constitution or by legislation or by rule, or by a mere utterance of Obama’s command.

Aside from the fact that traditional farm life produces healthy, productive, moral citizens – an example that should be championed – the DOL’s new rule essentially destroys traditional farm life.

The most amusing part of the response is the horror expressed that a Democrat should be held accountable for his performance. » The United Nation’s Useless Genocide Trials

How effective is the United Nations at tackling genocide? When it happens or is about to happen, its peacekeeping forces usually find a good reason to be somewhere else. And the Security Council and General Assembly find some pressing Israeli matter to concentrate on. But what about after the fact?

The United Nations boasts of leading the charge against genocide through its tribunals. Warlords and generals who commit mass murder are supposed to fear the wrath of the international community. But how much wrath is there to fear?

There is no comparison between the effectiveness of the United States and the United Nations approach in punishing genocide. The Nuremberg Trials sent a message. The Rwanda Tribunal and the Khmer Rouge Tribunal have sent a contrary one. It does not take a scholar of international law to determine which one tyrants fear the most.

» The Second Coming of American Liberal Fascism?

The re-emerged progressive movement, springing to action to “agitate” (their word choice) for President Obama’s agenda is troubling. There is a pattern of behavior within the modern progressive movement against dissent echoing the progressive movement during Woodrow Wilson’s tenure. Then, progressives engaged in fascist strategy and tactics to silence opposition to Wilson’s advance of the state over the individual. Many on the left then hailed Benito Mussolini as a hero and champion of progress in the way many on the modern left hail Hugo Chavez as the same. In the second decade of the twenty-first century, progressive activists are engaging in a similar pattern of intimidation and violence that they perversely think will help President Obama, even as he himself has voiced misgivings about their tactics and sought to distance himself from some of his most ardent supporters.

» The Savage Lands of Islam

Saudi Arabia, the heartland of Islam, still tries and execute witches. What sort of religion can come out of a place that marries off ten year old girls and murders old women on charges of witchcraft? Exactly the sort of religion you would expect to fly planes into skyscrapers, murder teenage girls for using Facebook and base their entire society on a ladder with Muslim men at the top, Muslim women a few rungs below and everyone else somewhere at the bottom.

…. as adults we ought not to have to make patronizing references to the “Noble People of Afghanistan,” as Gen. John Allen did in his embarrassingly obsequious apology to the Afghans for the inadvertent burning of Qurans on a NATO base. As adults we ought not to have to pretend that the “Arab Spring” is a glorious flowering of freedom when in fact it is a series of pro-Shariah Islamic-supremacist takeovers.
If we treat Muslims as adults instead of as children, we will not turn our heads and pretend that we don’t see when Muslims in Nigeria burn churches and brutalize Christians. Nor will we ignore the Muslim persecution of Christians in Egypt, Iraq, Pakistan and elsewhere. If we treat Muslims as adults, we will not turn a blind eye when Saudi Arabia executes women for sorcery. We will not turn our heads and pretend we don’t see when Muslim countries execute homosexuals. We will not pretend that the Muslim women around the world, and increasingly in the U.S., who are victims of honor killings do not exist and never did exist. Nor will we refuse to listen when Iran makes genocidal threats against Israel.

» It Was the Power, Stupid!

In my dumber days, between 2001-2008, I used to wonder why the Left relentlessly hammered the war on terror (e.g., renditions, tribunals, predators, preventative detention, Patriot Act, intercepts, wiretaps, Guantanamo Bay) when these measures had not only proven quite useful in preventing another 9/11-like attack, but had been sanctioned by both the Congress and the courts. In those ancient times, I was not as cynical as I am now. So I assumed that Harold Koh and, though mistaken, were worried about civil liberties, or measures that they felt were both illegal and without utility.

But, of course, the Obama (who attacked each and every element of the war on terror as a legislator and senator) Left never had any principled objection at all. Instead, whatever Bush was for, they were in Pavlovian fashion against. I can say that without a charge of cynicism, because after January 2009, Obama embraced or expanded every Bush-Cheney protocol that he inherited. In response, the anti-war Left simply kept silent, or indeed vanished, or went to work extending the anti-terrorism agenda. Guantanamo Bay, in other words, was a national sin until the mid-morning of January 20, 2009.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy lost Sunday in the first round of elections to Socialist candidate Francois Hollande, as far-right candidate Marine Le Pen siphoned off 18% of the votes.

Meanwhile, in the Netherlands, Prime Minister Mark Rutte resigned and dissolved his government, as talks over EU austerity broke down.

This comes just hours after the IMF boosted the bailout fund for Europe another $430 billion and just weeks after the 25 nations of the EU signed a “Pact for Budget Discipline” requiring members to cap spending, slash deficits and shrink the size of government.

Wasn’t that enough? Apparently not. Events in Holland and France show why the EU may be heading for breakup — no matter how many bailouts it gets.

The Dutch once openly sneered at others, like Greece, Italy and Spain, who were in deep fiscal trouble. Now their government has collapsed.

» Earth Day, Lenin’s Birthday, and the Socialist Ties That Bind

It was not coincidental that the first Earth Day was on the 100th Anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Lenin. There are no real coincidences when it comes to Socialism.
“We have about five more years at the outside to do something,” ecologist Kenneth Watt said at Swarthmore College in 1970.

Well, we must have done something right. We’re still here.

Maybe it was the leisure suits that saved us. That makes about as much sense as anything else.

Earth Day was created to champion the control of all property by a centralized government. This has already been achieved to a large degree in the United States by the use of the Endangered Species Act and the actions of the Environmental Protection Agency. When the politicians and bureaucrats are in control, the goal of the government is not to own everything but to control everything. This is the Fascist brand of Socialism.

In spite of our Federal government bureaucrats, the air, water, and land have become cleaner every decade for the past 130 years. Innovation and Capitalism have led the way, providing sufficient wealth and other resources so contamination could be cleaned and pollution could be avoided.

The environmental devastation started by Lenin, and continued by those who followed, has resulted in widespread ecological destruction and disasters. Russia, China, the Eastern bloc nations, Cuba, and other Communist countries are the most polluted places on Earth.

Happy Earth Day 2012, everyone! One day we may look back on this as the time when the tide began to recede – that being the tide of Anthropogenic Global Warming hysteria.

Because their marketers have discovered that people don’t buy that. Either they don’t agree or they’ve tired of the subject, but Discovery just can’t sell that brand of compost any more.

The article in The New York Times tiptoes around that fact, blaming the lack of AGW hysteria on the “politicization” of the issue and the 10% (sic) of us Flat Earthers who are conflicted between Scientific Consensus and Our Lying Eyes.

And since folks in Arizona have never had to deal with water shortages or hot weather, this is scaring them silly.

» Who owns the West?

The U. S. Constitution clearly states what land the federal government may possess, and the procedure for acquiring it. Article 1, Section 8 requires the federal government to purchase land from states with the approval of the state legislature “…for the Erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful Buildings.”

The Constitution provides no authority for the federal government to own more than half of Utah and 10 other western states.

It is high time that the land and resources of America be returned to the citizens. Surely, both the federal and state governments could benefit immediately were they to sell their land to private interests. Progressives – Democrats and environmentalists – disagree. They are convinced that the government, not private owners, must control the use of land.

Since 1976, the government has not been content with the land it retained from western states. The U.S. government signed a U.N. document that completely reversed the Founders’ view of property ownership. This document declares that all land use should be controlled by government. Since 1976, the federal government has continually expanded both its control and ownership of private property.

» LEAKED STRATFOR EMAILS: Democrats Manipulated The 2008 Election Results

In an email sent on November 7, 2008, and titled ” Insight – The Dems & Dirty Tricks ** Internal Use Only – Pls Do Not Forward **,” Stratfor vice president of intelligence Fred Burton wrote:
1) The black Dems were caught stuffing the ballot boxes in Philly and Ohio as reported the night of the election and Sen. McCain chose not to fight. The matter is not dead inside the party. It now becomes a matter of sequence now as to how and when to “out”.

The Nov. 7 email also contains allegations that Democrats made a “six-figure donation” to Rev. Jesse Jackson to silence him on the topic of Israel after an October 2008 interview in which he said Obama’s presidency would remove the clout of “Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades.”

The email also refers to an accusation that Obama’s campaign took money from Russia, recalling memories of Bill Clinton’s 1996 presidential campaign when the Justice Department uncovered evidence that China sought to make direct contributions to the Democratic National Committee.
Burton wrote:
3) The hunt is on for the sleezy Russian money into O-mans coffers. A smoking gun has already been found. Will get more on this when the time is right. My source was too giddy to continue. Can you say Clinton and ChiCom funny money? This also becomes a matter of how and when to out.

» All the Morals of a Bulldozer

To be genuinely outraged about something, you need to actually believe in something. Without principles, outrage is just tactical anger, or bullying in plainer language. Principles, values and codes are universal. That is if you are angry about a dog being mistreated by riding on top of a car, then you should at least be equally angry at dogs being eaten.

If a man shooting another man after a confrontation and not being charged for it angers you, then it should anger you regardless of the color of his skin. For that matter if racism or sexism offends you, then it should offend you regardless of whether it is directed at a woman or a black man who is a liberal or a conservative.

It’s child play to notice that the game doesn’t work this way anymore ….

The people behaving this way have lost the ability to recognize enduring abstract principles that have an existence beyond their emotions of the moment. They don’t live by rules, rather rules live by them, if they are angry, then their anger is a moral issue, if they are not angry, it isn’t. Emotions are the only moral barometer that people who cannot see beyond the self have.

Thomas Rick is a moron.
» Thomas Rick’s Big Idea

Thomas Ricks of the Center for a New American Security writes in the Washington Post that the all-volunteer military is a thing of the past and we need to go back to the draft. If the Center for a New American Security sounds familiar, it’s because they’re the same numbnuts who started this talk about doing away with 20-year retirement for the military that we talked about almost a year ago. I guess the CNASC has a business plan that calls for one new stupid idea every year. Of course, bringing back the draft is not a new idea, it’s more like the Left clinging to their glory days.

So Rick’s big idea is only big to him …. and it’s not an idea, it’s a symptom of a putrid ideal …. and he didn’t come up with it anyway, he’s just repeating leftist propaganda that he found in the gutter.

Ricks’ ill-considered reasoning is that if we still had a draft, the US would be less likely to commit military force where it’s needed …. First of all, professional soldiers don’t want a bunch of draftees who we have to babysit for the period of their service. But Thomas Ricks doesn’t know anything about that.

Cause like I said, Rick is a moron.

Which reminds me, I found out that I have at least one reader in Kandahar …. maybe two?

Ten years ago on April 17 and 18 , a number of Democrats took to the floor of the Senate to block efforts to open the Alaska Wildlife Refuge mud flats to exploration and development: It would take ten years, they said — up to ten years for any oil to reach the market. Gas prices then were $1.45 a gallon at the pump.

Once again, they all advance the same excuses. Talking points.

One of these days, the DNC is gonna make note of Maxine’s intelligence deficiency and take away her access to the Party catbags.

While speaking at a Los Angeles Town Hall event recently, Rep. Maxine Waters introduced an interesting idea when it comes to banks and loan modification. According to her, it’s up to the federal government to make sure people can afford their mortgages. So much so that it’s time the president “bring the gangsters in, put them around the table, and let them know that if they don’t come up with loan modifications and keep people in their homes, that they’ve worked so hard for, we’re gonna tax them out of business.”

Although Waters is only one of many congress-critters that operate on a kindergarten mental level (see Hank ‘Guam Tipper’ Johnson), she must be especially worrisome to the Big Gears in the Republic Shredding Machine known as the dhimmicrat party: She has no control over her pie hole.
There’s no doubt that she and most of the more talkative are fed their daily talk-points and phrases of the day. That’s evidenced on multiple occasions as dozens of (D) party hacks hit the airwaves all using the same brand new catch phrases and buzz-words. But Waters is one of those that simply can’t stick to the daily script, she always takes it a step further and reveals the underlying motives and schemes.
Remember when Maxine told the oil company CEOs “We’re gonna nationalize your industry and uh ….. uh …. we’re gonna ….. uh”
Oops. Too late to rebag that cat.

» Democrats Are Jumping Ship

These Democrats are no doubt familiar with polls that show surprisingly little support for ObamaCare within their ranks. Fewer than half of Democrats think the government should be able to force individuals to buy insurance — the core element of ObamaCare — according to the latest IBD/TIPP poll. Only a little more than a third say the Supreme Court should “uphold the entire law.”

The fact that they’re willing to trash-talk Obama’s single biggest legislative achievement suggests they’re worried about something more than how the Supreme Court will rule.

Conservatives of good will who’ve watched President Obama brutalize his enemies have one question for the nice-guy niceties: Why, GOP, why?

Earthday 2012

I think it’s today. Maybe not. Don’t care enough to look it up.
If you care more than I do, look it up yerseff.

But whether tis or t’aint – do your part and burn sumthin’.

Free the CO2 !!

This is what we used to call a shuttle-fire, cause it’s big enough to be seen from the space shuttle.
But that was back when America could afford to send up a shuttle, now we rent seats from the Ruskies.
And now we just call this an Earthday party.

» Man Bites Dog

it’s highly likely that neither Obama nor Bill Clinton ever would have received even the most basic security clearance had they not been elected president, and it’s certainly true that Democratic presidents seem to have a lot of trouble keeping spies and enemy agents out of their administrations. But what do you expect from a criminal organization masquerading as a political party? As some idiot pointed out just before the inauguration, the Obama administration was from the outset a clown car heading for disaster, the unholy issue of ’30s mobsters and ’60s Marxists, slickly packaged for a new generation of suckers.

“Man bites dog” used to be the very definition of news; now it’s just another punch line in an ongoing national practical joke that’s no laughing matter.

» Grope and Change

Amazing to hear government agents channeling Dudley Moore in Arthur: “You’re a hooker? I thought I was doing so well.” It turns out U.S. Secret Service agents are the only men who can walk into a Colombian nightclub and not spot the professionals.
It’s wrong to take a “foreign national” up to the room, but it would have been okay if she’d been from Des Moines? We’re all in favor of outsourcing, but in compliance with Section 27(e)viii of the PATRIOT Act this is the one job Americans will do?

A pair of race-cards, with a commie kicker.

An Indiana union suing Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels over right-to-work legislation is claiming that it violates the 13th amendment — the law that outlaws slavery.

In the lawsuit, the union claims that the Indiana right-to-work bill “requires dues-paying union members to work alongside non-union personnel,” which the union contends is slavery.

Oh dear, I never thought of it that way – for nearly 40 years I have been working at jobs from which I thought I was free to quit and leave, but I’m actually a slave because I’ve never submitted to being a union member.

I fold.

Now that Discovery is safely delivered to the Smithsonian, I think I can tell the story of how we nearly lost her in July of 2005, and how well-intentioned, highly motivated, hard-working, smart people can miss the most obvious.
