“These bills do absolutely nothing to make Colorado a safer place to live, to work, to play or to raise a family,” Weld County Sheriff John Cooke explained at a recent press conference. “Instead these misguided, unconstitutional bills will have the opposite effect because they greatly restrict the right of decent, law-abiding citizens to defend themselves, their families and their homes.”

The thought of Biden as President is almost as scary as Obama. We would go from a sinister socialist to a laughable lunatic who has no concept of reality.

A more worrisome possibility would be a repeat of what happened during the Nixon administration that led to the 38th President who was never on a presidential/vice-presidential ballot …. no citizen ever voted for him, or against him, for president.

Given the number of self-proclaimed anti-freedom communists that Obama has appointed and installed into the upper tiers of America’s leadership, the prospect of him choosing a new vice-president and then himself being removed or resigning should be absolutely terrifying.

It may not come as surprising news to many of you that the United Nations doesn’t approve of our Second Amendment. Not one bit. And they very much hope to do something about it with help from some powerful American friends. Under the guise of a proposed global “Small Arms Treaty” premised to fight “terrorism”, “insurgency” and “international crime syndicates” you can be quite certain that an even more insidious threat is being targeted – our Constitutional right for law-abiding citizens to own and bear arms.

My attitude toward guns started to point in the right direction when I started reading less biased, more informative articles on the issue

….
1.“At Columbine High School, two students killed 13 people before ending the carnage themselves by committing suicide.” 2. “In 1997, a student at Pearl High School in Pearl, Miss., had already shot several people at his high school and was headed for the junior high school when assistant principal Joel Myrick retrieved a .45 pistol from his car and pointed it at the gunman’s head, ending the slaughter. Two dead. ”

The statistics speak for themselves. When a good guy has a gun, as in the latter tragedy, it’s easier to stop the bad guy and ultimately results in fewer casualties.

….
My change of heart toward firearms was solidified when I held a gun for the first time … once I picked up a revolver and eased back the trigger, one word kept running through my mind: empowered

Empowered.
Bam! There it is. That’s the core of the gun debate right there.
The empowerment of the individual, by a gun, against oppression.

The anti-gun voices are the voices of oppressors; the wannbee, would-be tyrants. The presence of the personal firearm in the tyrant-subject equation reduces the tyrant to a tyrunt.

Armed citizens can not be controlled, and when total unequivocal control is the goal there can be no allowance for self-defense – for an armed citizenry.

Where were the media when all this began happening? With a few exceptions, they were acting as quiet enablers.

It’s instructive to go back to the dawn of Hope and Change. It was 2009, and the new administration decided it was appropriate to use the prestige of the White House to viciously attack a news organization—Fox News—and the journalists who work there. Remember, President Obama had barely been in office and had enjoyed the most laudatory press of any new president in modern history. Yet even one outlet that allowed dissent or criticism of the president was one too many. This should have been a red flag to everyone, regardless of what they thought of Fox News. The math was simple: if the administration would abuse its power to try and intimidate one media outlet, what made anyone think they weren’t next?

Five years ago, the sight of Muslim terrorists beheading British soldiers was a horror that could happen in Afghanistan or Iraq. Now it has happened in broad daylight in the capital of the United Kingdom.

In a decade, 600,000 white Londoners have fled the city. Those are the sorts of numbers you would expect from the Syrian civil war. Their place has been taken by the million Muslims occupying the city.
….
Muslim fighters have torn Somalia apart. And importing 200,000 of them into the United Kingdom is beginning to have the same effect. There are an estimated 70,000 Somalis in Greater London. That makes London the 12th largest city in Somalia.
….
This is a culture of violence.
Islam sanctifies that culture of violence. It takes tribal killings and endows them with the status of a religious duty.

» The Liberal-Islamist Alliance

What is so appealing about the Islamists and their ideology, that the left is willing to go to such horrifying lengths to champion their cause. The answer may lie in the liberal view of religion as a tool of social change. The theology behind this goes by many names in different denominations and religions, from Liberation Theology to Prophetic Justice to Tikkun Olam, the common denominator is that they hijack religion to serve as a vehicle for social justice.
….
Seen from that angle, it is not surprising why the Islamist agenda would appeal to liberals. It is after all also religion used as a tool of social change. Islamist groups are revolutionary, they want to overthrow the existing order in order to build a perfect society as defined by Sharia law. They operate social services centers for their followers and claim to be fighting for justice. But what liberals fail to understand is that while for them religion is a means, to the Islamists, religion is an end. Both liberals and Islamists equate religion with social justice. But for liberals, social justice is equivalent to religion, for Islamists religion is equivalent to social justice. While liberals talk about religion in order to bring about what they believe is a better society, Islamists talk about a better society in order to impose their religion on all Muslims and non-Muslims alike. If liberals were able to understand this, they might wake up long enough to realize the “deal with the devil” they had made.

First, don’t let people forget: the IRS scandal is not about conservative accusations. The Inspector General of the U.S. Treasury issued a report finding that the Internal Revenue Service sharply discriminated against conservative organizations. This is confirmed by Treasury’s Inspector General.

….
When a conservative organization Media Trackers couldn’t get approved after 8 months, it changed its project to the liberal-sounding name “Greenhouse Solutions.” With the new name, the exact same project was approved within 3 weeks … Liberal groups — even with very political activities — were systematically approved, and quickly, with relatively little burden or scrutiny

» Senate Dems Have as Much to Explain as the IRS

The same Democratic chairman of the Senate Finance Committee who this week is calling for hearings into IRS activities, specifically called on the IRS to engage in that very conduct back in 2010. And he wasn’t the only one. Just last year, a group of seven Senate Democrats sent another letter to the IRS urging them to similarly investigate these outside political organizations.
….
From Max Baucus to Chuck Schumer to Jeanne Shaheen, key Senate Democrats publicly pressured the IRS to target groups that held differing political views and who, in their view, had the temerity to engage in the political process. The IRS listened to them and acted. And other Democrat senators like Kay Hagan and Mark Pryor said and did nothing about it.

» The IRS Scandal Started at the Top

Was the White House involved in the IRS’s targeting of conservatives? No investigation needed to answer that one. Of course it was.

President Obama and Co. are in full deniability mode, noting that the IRS is an “independent” agency and that they knew nothing about its abuse. The media and Congress are sleuthing for some hint that Mr. Obama picked up the phone and sicced the tax dogs on his enemies.

But that’s not how things work in post-Watergate Washington. Mr. Obama didn’t need to pick up the phone. All he needed to do was exactly what he did do, in full view, for three years: Publicly suggest that conservative political groups were engaged in nefarious deeds; publicly call out by name political opponents whom he’d like to see harassed; and publicly have his party pressure the IRS to take action.

» Is the IRS scandal the worst political scandal in American history? I say “yes.”

When it comes to the IRS’s ongoing, repressive behavior against conservative groups, you’re likely to hear different verdicts: The hard Left says, of course, that this is a molehill that the Republicans are scandalously trying to turn into a scandal. (The New York Times perfectly exemplifies this line of thinking.) Others on the Left admit incompetence, but refuse to assign moral blame. Conservatives are willing to assign moral blame but think that no one really cares.

I believe that everyone should care because what we’re seeing now is a new type of scandal in American history, and the biggest crime a sitting administration has ever committed against the American people. I wrote about it at Mr. Conservative, although the headline there focuses on the IRS’s probing into people’s prayers. (Thinking about that, its worth remembering that Queen Elizabeth I, who ruled in an age when church and state were one, refused to “make windows into men’s souls.” The IRS is not so doctrinally picky.) ….

» EPA waives fee requests for friendly groups, denies conservative groups

Conservative groups seeking information from the Environmental Protection Agency have been routinely hindered by fees normally waived for media and watchdog groups, while fees for more than 90 percent of requests from green groups were waived, according to requests reviewed by the Competitive Enterprise Institute.
…. “This is as clear an example of disparate treatment as the IRS’ hurdles selectively imposed upon groups with names ominously reflecting an interest in, say, a less intrusive or biased federal government,”

IRS, EPA, ATF, DOJ, DHS, DOE … Different names, different duties, one single agenda: Rip the Constitution from the grasp of clinging patriots. And ideally, a single ultimate fate: Stomped Shitless

Not just fired, but sitting in a prison cell (with feet up on the furniture, no doubt).

There is no hyperbole too strong to describe this revelation. The IRS is now the Tax Gestapo, the Party Enforcer, and the soon-to-be Ministry of Worthiness when it comes to acquiring health care.
….
If government were a business, Obama would have already been fired. If we lived in a sane world, impeachment proceedings against him and criminal proceedings against the IRS executives involved would begin forthwith.
And if sense applied prevalently in Americans’ appraisal of this bloated and exceedingly powerful government, we would demand in unison that the government eliminate the excess by slimming it down, reducing the influence and reach of its agencies, and thereby making this necessary evil, as Thomas Paine profoundly reminds us that government is, a more efficient and less intrusive evil.

Here We Go Again
Our audacious administration has blown it’s allowance, once again, and is in the preliminary stages of it’s usual screaming hissy fit for more.

Actually, my ‘spoild-brat allowance’ analogy is nowhere near accurate. They’re not asking for more money, but for permission to borrow more money (in our name and on our credit) from somebody else (to whom we already owe more than we have) so they can meet their payroll of hired voters.

… the President and Congress decided in February that they would continue borrowing through May 18, with the new debt limit becoming the then-current limit of $16.394 trillion plus whatever was added on since then. Washington racked up $300 billion in more debt in less than four months, making the current limit $16.7 trillion.

This is the pattern of recurrent budget negotiation crises:
1 Spend;
2 Spend some more;
3 Run up against the debt ceiling;
4 Resort to “extraordinary measures” to ward off a possible default for a while; and finally,
5 Settle for inadequate measures that fail to curb soaring debt in the future.

GunsAndAmmo.com has a list of eight celebrities that openly endorse the anti-gun movement.

Hollywood’s hypocrisy knows no bounds. While its multi-million dollar movie stars cash in on shoot ‘em up thrillers and cop dramas, they openly move to restrict gun ownership in this country. When the lights turn off and the cameras stop running, these stars put down their prop house guns and pick the Brady Campaign banner. When a fortune is made on the portrayal of guns on the silver and small screen and that cash turns into donations to the anti-gun lobby, it should make every Second Amendment supporter think: Where is my money really going?Fame is a powerful weapon, and it’s hard to believe that these celebs have anti-gun leanings. But they do.

Some are no surprise at all, being leftist moonbats they do what we expect them to do: Matt Damon and Danny DeVito.

The others, however, are very disappointing.

Shania Twain
It’s not very often you hear of country music artists taking a stand for any sort of gun control. But we’ve all known for a while that Shania Twain isn’t like most country singers, haven’t we? Canada’s gift to country was a signer of Handgun Control Inc.’s – now known as the Brady Campaign – “Open Letter to the National Rifle Association” full-page ad that ran in the June 9, 1999, edition of USA Today. Twain’s politics didn’t stop her from having armed guards at her wedding in January 2011 in Puerto Rico.

Kevin Bacon
If one made the observation that Kevin Bacon has been in everything, that wouldn’t be too far off. In fact, he’s even made appearances in the pro-gun control camp – who knew? Bacon was yet another signer of HCI’s “Open Letter,” and is listed on the NRA Institute for Legislative Action’s list of organizations and individuals who have contributed to anti-gun organizations.

Mark Wahlberg
The ex-leader of the Funky Bunch, Marky Mark had some pretty strong words for Charlton Heston. At the 2000 MTV Movie Awards, Wahlberg suggested on stage that the “Best Villain” award be given to Heston: “I believe Charlton Heston is America’s best villain because he loves guns so much. Maybe he should get the award for being president of the National Rifle Association.” But his anti-gun attitude didn’t stop there. “Well, I would love it if they could take all the guns away. Unfortunately, you can’t do that so you hope that good people in the world have them to protect the people who can’t protect themselves,” he said in an April 26, 2007, edition of the Herald Sun. “Certainly, I haven’t used a gun anywhere other than on a movie set and I’d like to see if we could take them all away. It would be a beautiful thing.”

Sean Connery
What would James Bond be without his trusty Walther PPK? Well, he’d probably be just another dapper Englishman – or Scotsman, depending on who’s portraying him. While Sean Connery hasn’t brought his gun control lobbying to U.S. shores, he’s lent his services to anti-handgun PSAs in the United Kingdom: “It is said that a total ban on handguns, including .22s, would take away innocent pleasure from thous
ands of people. Is that more or less pleasure than watching your child grow up?” Connery once said in a BBC ad.

Arnold Schwarzenegger
In his prime, Ahnold was recognized as one of the elite Hollywood tough guys for his roles in movies like “Predator” or “The Terminator.” Back then, he was a strong supporter of the Second Amendment, but it’s funny what politics can do to someone’s beliefs. When he began his gubernatorial campaign in 2003, Schwarzenegger seemingly did an about-face – as politicians seem to do quite often – supporting the ban on assault weapons in the U.S., as well as the Brady Bill. In fact, in a 2003 issue of Time, the Governator was quoted as saying, “I’m for gun control. I’m a peace-loving guy.”

Sylvester Stallone
While Rambo had no qualms firing a few thousand rounds at his enemies, Stallone would prefer to take a different approach. Some actors and celebrities may hope and wish for gun control, but their takes aren’t as totalitarian as Stallone’s. In response to the shooting death of Phil Hartman in 1999, Stallone – who was living in the UK at the time – was shown on Access Hollywood saying, “Until America, door to door, takes every handgun, this is what you’re gonna have. It’s pathetic. It really is pathetic. It’s sad. We’re living in the Dark Ages over there.”

I mean those who read the Second Amendment as proclaiming the right of citizens to resist the tyranny of their own government, that is, of the government that issued and ratified the Constitution in the first place.

They don’t even understand the portrayal – which is not an either/or, liar/idiot choice. It’s both.
This administration was idiotic and derelict in it’s handling of the Benghazi attack, before and during the attack. This administration idiotically lied about their dereliction during and after the attack and every day since.

Two United States Servicemen fought for hours and hours against overwhelming odds and numbers with the assumption that their commanders were on the way with reinforcement. They died, fighting, waiting for (THHO)Obama to back them up.
(THHO)Obama was asleep, literally. He cared that much.

(THHO)Obama had made reelection campaign statements that would have been proven lies if he acknowledged and responded to an attack on American troops on a battlefield. He chose to protect his re-electability.

If that’s not malice, what is?

» THE TRAP: What did Hillary and Obama discuss at 10pm on the night of the Benghazi attacks?

The 10pm phone call is a trap waiting to be sprung. It could be the lynchpin that holds together the last vestiges of the most inept and corrupt administration in modern American history.

Congress must demand Clinton testify under oath and send an interrogatory to the President.

….
Putting both Clinton and Obama under oath will raise an interesting dilemma for both. Which ever party answers first could be contradicted on any of these matters. If Clinton answers under oath to protect herself, Obama could easily throw her under the bus. Conversely, if Obama replies to an interrogatory first, Clinton could contradict any of his answers.

Benghazi is ultimately a conflict between the Clinton Democrats and the Chicago Machine. A wedge can be driven between these two destructive forces with some well thought-out subpoenas. Exploiting that wedge could light the fuse on the time-bomb and detonate the Obama administration once and for all.

… unsurprisingly, nobody can remember nothing about nothing. Eric Holder could not for the life of him recall who might have authorized such a wide-ranging investigation into the Associated Press. Dhimmicrat Congressman John Tierney is either too stupid to have caring friends, or he thinks you and I are that stupid.
» Dems offer gun control bill inspired by latest James Bond movie ‘Skyfall’

The idea is to produce guns that can only be used by the gun’s owners. Rep. John Tierney (D-Mass.) cited the latest James Bond movie, “Skyfall,” as inspiration for the bill.
“In the most recent James Bond film, Bond escapes death when his handgun, which is equipped with technology that recognizes him as its owner, becomes inoperable when it gets into the wrong hands,” Tierney’s office said in a statement introducing the bill. “This technology, however, isn’t just for the movies — it’s a reality.”

Surely, Tierney has at least one friend who would whisper in his ear “John, that’s an embarrassingly stupid idea.”, unless both Tierney and his friends fully understand that the cost of such technology (whether or not it actually exists, and I doubt it does) would be monsterously inhibitive – raising the price tag of a gun by thousands of dollars and …. oh, wait.
You don’t suppose that’s the actual intent do you?

Why yes, I do believe that’s it. The ProCommieGressives of the Dhimmicrat Party have tried everything they could think of to get rid of that pesky little amendment number two. So, they’re willing to try convincing us that they will let us keep our guns if we will spend several thousand dollars to add on some little techno doo-dad.
Or maybe they’re just really stupid.
Or both.

Under his bill, guns made in the United States would have to be built with this technology two years after the bill becomes law. Older guns being sold by a business or individual would have to be retrofitted with this technology after three years.

Officials in Washington are using dirty tactics to hide the investigation and decision not to prosecute David Gregory of NBC News for illegally possessing a “high-capacity” magazine in the District of Columbia.
….
“Meet the Press briefly borrowed the empty magazine from a private citizen who lives outside of the District of Columbia and who ‘Meet the Press’ understood possessed the magazine lawfully,” … The NBC lawyer also claimed, “The magazine was immediately returned to its owner following the broadcast.”
.However, according to a police “property record” document, a Kay Industries 30-round magazine was recovered from Mr. Gregory … as part of an active investigation.

… police documents show there was no confusion. At 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, a NBC producer, whose name was redacted, emailed MPD this: “Meet the Press is interviewing a person on the show this Sunday in studio -Producers for the show would liek [sic] to have a clip (standard and high power), without ammunition in studio to use on the show. There will be no gun, no bullets, just clips. Is this legal?”
At 9 p.m., someone at MPD — again, the name was blacked out — replied: “No, possession of high capacity magazines is a misdemeanor under Title #7 of the D.C. Code. We would suggest utilizing photographs for their presentation.”

From the comments:

So, why didn’t NBC use a stock photo of a 30 round magazine to illustrate what they were referring to? Could it be they found it much more dramatic and sensationalistic to have David Gregory waving it around for the cameras while he scoffs at our constitutional right to keep and bear arms?

This isn’t journalism at all…It’s partisan political advocacy…Which is why people’s trust in the objectivity of network news is dropping like a rock….And it also explains why you could fit most viewers of NBC into a phone booth nowadays.

Some gun-control advocates believe that insurance can help reduce gun violence by encouraging responsible gun ownership …

That is a lie, and a stupid lie to boot. Responsible gun owners are not the cause of the gun violence that gun-control advocates use as an excuse to disarm the American people. Said gun-control advocates don’t give a diddly-damn about gun violence, except for the gun violence they may encounter in their attempts to implement their agenda.
Mandatory gun insurance is nothing more than another way to make gun ownership more expensive and thereby encourage people to voluntarily disarm themselves.
